Desired Delivery Date

Standard Delivery time is 1-2 business days; however, certain files may be delayed in a USPTO law office, or may be misplaced within the USPTO. Our experienced professionals will work to procure your files by your selected delivery date.
If we are unable to meet your desired delivery date, a notification will be provided detailing the status of the requested documents.

Docket

The docket is your internal client matter or reference number –the one you want to associate with your order. Generally used for your internal billing management. If you do not have a client matter or reference number for your order, please enter “NONE”.

Basic and Premier OCR Searchable

Basic OCR Searchable file histories are processed using state-of-the-art Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology where image file content is converted to text format. Text content is searchable using the Adobe® Acrobat® tools. Standard pricing for Basic is $1.25/page, $45 minimum.

Duplicate Copies

A duplicate paper hardcopy of your document may be requested with your order

A duplicate CD-ROM is only available when you have selected a download or CD-ROM in the Document Type field.

Multiple Emails

Multiple emails may be used to route delivery email delivery information and to expand contact details. Several email addresses may be entered to share correspondence (e.g. order confirmation detail, order status detail) and download information with multiple recipients. During the order process simply enter the additional email addresses separated by commas. There is no additional charge for this option.

US PATENT APPLICATION FILE HISTORY

A record – or history - of the correspondence between the applicant and the examiner when a patent application is submitted to the PTO until and after the patent is granted, rejected or abandoned. It includes the explanations as to why certain claims are invalid or rejected, requests from the examiner and the applicant’s responses, and shows the flow of communication and steps applied throughout the application process. Any correspondence after a patent (i.e. litigation concerning the patent) is granted is also captured in the history.

Cited References

Cited references are listed in the patent bibliography. They are a compilation of US, non-US, and other publication documents cited by the examiner and/or applicant. When ordering multiple related file histories we do not provide duplicate copies of the cited references unless requested. Additional fees apply. View Pricng

Related Application File Histories

Related application information is listed in the patent bibliography. Related patent applications are those applications filed after an initial original application is filed but before it is issued as a patent, and that involve similar or related technologies. Related applications share the same priority application and priority date as the original application. Additional fees apply for each individual file history. View Pricing

CERTIFICTION SERVICES

Certified Patent Assignment

A copy of the recorded assignments, liens or security interest agreements assigned to a designated patent or application number. Reel and frame number information is required to submit this request to the USPTO Certification Branch. If you have the publication number only, Thomson will conduct an assignment search to obtain the required reel and frame number information (additional search fees will apply). The patent assignment is certified by the USPTO for litigation purposes.

Certified Patent Application as filed

Original patent application certified by the USPTO for foreign filing or litigation purposes. A Power to Inspect signed by the applicant or attorney of record may be required for pending applications. Certified Patent File History

A copy of the application or granted document certified by the USPTO, generally requested for litigation purposes. A certified copy will include all documents maintained in the original file history including all duplicate documents and any cited references.

Certified Patent Publication

A copy of the original patent document certified by the USPTO, generally requested for litigation purposes.

Certified Trademark Application as filed

A copy of the original trademark application certified by the USPTO, generally requested for foreign filing or litigation purposes.

Certified Trademark File History

A copy of the application or registered document certified by the USPTO, generally requested for litigation purposes. A certified copy will include all documents, including any duplicate documents, maintained in the original file history.

Certified PCT Application

Document Delivery

CD Rom or Paper Copy — documents are provided via CD Rom or via printed format based upon the media availability within the USPTO. If necessary, a letter of explanation may be addressed and sent to the USPTO detailing the need for the specific media type. In the interim the documents can be provided to you in printed format.
